The kitchen of my dreams

I can’t believe this is my kitchen! A year and a half of planning, designing, and slowly remodeling has come to a close and I’m so incredibly happy to see my vision finally come to life. While the footprint of the kitchen remained the same, so much has changed:

  • Removed the distracting, outdated wallpaper

  • Removed the big fluorescent light blocking the view to the angled upper window and replaced with a walnut, brass, and leather chandelier

  • Replaced the peel-and-stick vinyl tile with a warmer option

  • Modified the island to accommodate open shelving for cookbooks and décor

  • Replaced the formica countertops with concrete-looking quartz and charcoal soapstone

  • Installed backsplash tile

  • Removed some of the upper cabinets and replaced with walnut floating shelves, and added sconces above

  • Installed hidden soft-close hinges on all the doors

  • Painted the cabinets

  • Replaced the broken stove

Nearly all of the styling items you see fall into one or more of the following categories: Handmade, Local, Small Business, Thrifted, or Vintage.
