The Scott House: A midcentury-inspired plant paradise

I was first hired to do a refresh of my client’s primary bedroom. We were able to keep all of their existing furniture and rearrange some of the décor they already had. Adding a new rug, paint, bedside sconces, and other small finishing details made all the difference in this space! After finishing their bedroom, they asked me to come back and update their home office. Once again, we were able to keep all existing furniture- a huge win for their budget and reducing waste! We added a wood slat feature wall with matching floating shelves for their plant collection. My client was voted best Zoom background by his coworkers, which may have encouraged them to hire me a third time. The last project I designed for them was the primary bathroom. We removed the entire tub/shower area and started new with glossy jade colored wall tile, pebbles floors, a freestanding tub, and plants galore! My goal for the bathroom was to bring the outdoors in, and to make the space feel a bit like a jungle.

BEFORE

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

“My partner Diante and I reached out to Chelsea after over a year spent predominately cooped up in our house during the early days of COVID. We had followed Chelsea’s Instagram posts and came to the realization that her expertise was sorely needed to revitalize our primary bedroom. After a virtual consultation with Chelsea, we were convinced she understood our aesthetic but was also willing to push us a little out of our comfort zones. (Painted ceilings and trim? What?!) We also loved Chelsea’s emphasis on environmentally conscious design. After the bedroom project, we wasted no time having Chelsea back for an office refresh and a full renovation of our primary bath. From this entire experience, we not only fell in love with our home again - but we also made an incredible friend. Thank you, Chelsea, for your passion, your attention to detail, and your patience! You’re truly one-of-a-kind, and you’re stuck with us for life.”
